Growing up, I used to think everyone else had it all. Some of my friends were stunning, athletic, intelligent, responsible, fun and had cool parents. It seemed like they were literally perfect humans, and I wanted to be like them.
Over the years, I’ve come to accept that nobody is perfect. Every now and then, I need to remind myself that everyone is a little fucked up. Everyone has something going on in their lives. Everyone has things they want to change. Everyone is just trying to figure it out. I admire and appreciate people, but I try to just do my best and love myself for trying.
This is a reminder to me, and to you to just live. Stop comparing yourself. Stop thinking you can’t do something. Stop pitying yourself. Just accept that we are all a little fucked, laugh about it, and try your best.
